MTA ready to work with new ministers

16 December 2022 | MTA WA News

The recent retirement of Ministers Alannah MacTiernan and Dave Kelly has triggered a reshuffle of responsibilities within the State’s Cabinet.

The changes of particular relevance to MTA members include:

  • The Education and Training portfolios have been divided – Hon Simone McGurk MLA is the Minister for Training
  • The Hon Sue Ellery MLC has become the Minister for Commerce (including DMIRS)
  • The Deputy Premier Hon Roger Cook MLA is now the Minister for Hydrogen Industry
  • One of the new faces in Cabinet, Hon Jackie Jarvis MLC, has been appointed to the role of Minister for Small Business.

The MTA WA Advocacy and Policy team looks forward to continuing our work with the new Ministers and their staff to deliver better outcomes for the tens of thousands of Western Australians employed by our diverse motor trades.
