About the awards
Recognising the rising stars of our industry
The MTA WA Apprentice of the Month Awards shine a spotlight on apprentices who go above and beyond.
Every month, we recognise apprentices who stand out. Each monthly winner will become a finalist for Apprentice of the Year, announced at the WA Automotive Industry Awards at Crown Perth on Saturday 16 October 2027.

Apprentice of the Year
Every monthly winner becomes a finalist. The winner is announced at the WA Automotive Industry Awards on 16 October 2027.
Eligibility
Who can apply
The awards are open to apprentices in any of the following groups.
Open to

MTA WA Group Training apprentices
Apprentices employed through MTA WA's Group Training Organisation (Apprentice Employment Program).

MTA WA Training apprentices
Apprentices trained through MTA WA's Registered Training Organisation (MTA WA Training).

Members
Apprentices at MTA WA member businesses
If you're an apprentice and your host business is an MTA WA member, you're eligible to apply.
Nominations can be submitted by
- ApprenticesNominate yourself
- Host employers / employersNominate an apprentice in your business
Please note
- Apprentices of all skill levels and year groups are eligible for nomination.
- Apprentices must have no outstanding debts, or be on an approved payment plan.
- Apprentices who complete their studies during their nomination month are still eligible.
- If an apprentice isn't selected in a given month, they can be re-nominated in future months.
- Winners are selected through a rigorous internal evaluation process that considers information from various sources. Once decided, the decision is final and not open to appeal.
